Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production and packaging equipment. This involves performing maintenance, preventative maintenance, changeovers, adjustments, troubleshooting, and both minor and major repairs. The role requires adherence to all SOPs, cGMPs, and plant quality, safety, and documentation system requirements. Additionally, the Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining robotic systems, vision systems, bar code verification equipment, and line control management.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and programming components, including PLC, servo drives, and related components used in manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Utilize manuals, SOPs, specifications, vendor contacts, and other workplace aids effectively.
• Complete corrective and preventative actions, including predictive maintenance.
• Actively communicate equipment status, work assignments, and other related information with manufacturing and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Prepare documents related to maintenance, quality, production change control requirements, and other necessary reports.
• Promote safe work practices.
• Complete assigned training in a timely manner.
• Train new and existing personnel as required.

Essential Skills

• Electrical troubleshooting
• PLC troubleshooting
• Mechanical troubleshooting
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
• Experience in industrial maintenance
• Understanding of VFDs
• Experience in a GMP environment
• Ability to work in a cleanroom setting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school education with the ability to read, write, and perform mathematics for technical work.
• Preferably, additional technical education.
• Four years of experience in a highly technical environment.
• Working knowledge of power transfer technology including mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Prefer experience in a highly regulated environment.

Work Environment

The role follows a 12-hour 2,2,3 schedule, providing some flexibility to maintain a consistent routine. Work is performed in a manufacturing or plant maintenance setting, with frequent interaction with maintenance personnel and other departments. A cleanroom manufacturing environment is maintained.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilson, NC.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
